Hypocrisy, many people have listened to the word hypocrite or hypocrisy at some place or at some time, ever wonder what it means, let’s have some examples of these hypocrisy

1. Worshiping a goddess and commit in violence against females

Now that’s the one of the highest form of hypocrisy found in India, there are many of the village elders as this hypocrisy is mainly found in rural areas but also affects urban areas, the people worship a female Goddess and still abuse their females (wife, sisters and children) and even try to kill them, for e.g. Female foeticide, if there is a God then why doesn’t he/she punishes these people who do these kind of atrocities.

2. Bash something while enjoy them separately

This can be said as a classic example of hypocrisy as at one time people bash or boycott a notion, a songs or anything and then afterwards they enjoy it, some of the examples of these things include AIB Roast, Songs by Honey Singh. This shows how childishly people are towards something.

3. Hate corruption but still bribe people

People read news about corruption in Newspapers and watch them in news channels on TV but still they don’t sway from giving bribe to a policeman or some other government servant when they want their work done desperately

4. Talk about progressing and still cling to some old and superstitious notion

Some of the leaders and people say they want to progress forward and get ahead of others not only as individuals but also as a Nation, still there are some people who oppose it, the example is just a recent when the city of Chandigarh decided to ban short skirts in Clubs, Discos etc. by defaming wearing short skirt as an “Anti-national” element

5. Don’t know anything about a thing and still openly oppose it

This is another one of the classic hypocrisy in India, people don’t know about something or have only partial information still they act and oppose it like they’ve known about it their whole life and they rant about it, a similar case is discussed in one of the former post “Sex: a taboo or something else” in point number four, there we gave the example of CSE or Comprehensive Sex Education which not only teaches about sex but also teaches about its cultural, psychological and social aspects aiming to minimize sex assaults and rape like crimes but the fool of the people ranted about it like they know what it was and threw it out of window

6. Wants something innovative but try to suppress new ideas

For this I can say it’s based on a personal experience, as I was trying to make something different which was not implemented in our Country, some people like my teachers rebuffed the idea telling about its defects while I wasn’t even able to explain all the details, Yeah I know, this sucks, in my case the one who pulled me down or stopped me were my teachers but for others it can also be their parents, siblings, close friends relatives, the way of rebuffing an Idea without even listing is only popular in India

7. Talk about Unity in diversity and discriminate people in our Country

We say we have Unity in Diversity, we are a nation, we have solidified bonds and still we discriminate each other among ourselves, as one can see in some of the metropolitan cities, people use derogatory terms which may offend someone of different culture then them, for e.g. North Indian People have a tendency to call almost all of South Indians as “Madrasi”s and North-Eastern as “Chinki”s which are derogatory terms as South India have many other state and someone should not treat every South Indian the same way, similarly North-Eastern people are also Indians, then why discrimante them by calling Chinki’s, this is a disgrace to our country as these people only talk about Unity and still use these kind of terms.

Now that’s a lot about the Bad side of India, next time we’ll talk about the good Parts

Until Then……
